There is something so special and divine about the mother/child bond that his/her mere existence makes a woman complete. One year and a week before, on 24th of August, I was blessed with a boy whom I named Aahan. As sex determination in India is illegal, we didn’t know the gender till I delivered. All we were hoping for was a healthy baby and then he arrived, crying…!! We named him Aahan which means “morning glory”, born at 4:14 AM. And Morning Glory he is, thus the name for this pattern. Motherhood taught me so many things and patience is one of them. Of course, I was patient enough earlier too but motherhood added an another dimension to it. Granny square day coincides with my Independence Day so celebrate both occasions I have created this simple 7’’ square with some texture which includes post and reverse stitches. I have decided to call it as “Jupiter”.  Granny squares need no introduction. Granny squares can be called as basic building blocks of crochet. Any beginner in crochet would definitely try their hands on granny squares first. Traditionally granny squares are worked in rounds and alternate sets of double stitches and chain stitches but solid granny square is also famous variation. Now you get to see all sorts of variation though. So speaking of "Jupiter" , this square uses reverse puff stitch and reverse single crochet to create texture pattern, a bit challenging to work in a reverse gear but worth the effort plus once you get a hang of it, it’s easy and doesn’t take much time.  This is a simple solid granny square with just a bit of extra texture.
